My Story
From July 23rd -27th this summer I'm joining a group cycling from London to Paris, so I can raise as much money as I can for Macmillan Cancer Support. Here's our plan:
Day 1 London - Dover - Dunkirk (130 km)
Day 2 Dunkirk - Cambrai (163km)
Day 3 Cambrai - Soissons (117km)
Day 4 Soissons - Paris (130km)
My love of running and being active was put on hold last year, when cancer caught up with me. It was a massive shock and a tough time, with 5 months of chemotherapy, more than 40 hospital visits and an operation before Christmas to remove the tumours. The effects of cancer treatment are as hard metally as physically, and when you're in the midst of it, it's hard to think clearly. Thanks to Macmillan and other such charities though, invaluable support is available in person at hospitals and by phone and online, so there is always someone there for you when you most need them.
I'm back on my feet, and in my trainers now, and I need to do something to show my gratitude. I love cycling but have never attempted anything more than a few hours on a bike, so this will be a true challenge. Please help me by making a donation, so Macmillan can always be there for people like me.
